This is a video of a US Navy vessel being launched. The launching of a ship is a significant event and naval vessels tend to still hold the traditional celebrations attached to this event. Although most commercial vessels do not generally hold the traditional celebration such as this one, watching how a ship can be launched along with discussing traditions attached to this event can be beneficial for students in understanding the ship building process.
